A new type of temporary sculpture is popping up around Music City. Nashville's Vroom Vroom Balloon by Harlan Ruby has people pumped.
"People are reinventing these classic party items like balloons. They're not cheesy anymore!" said Fiona Flaherty, co-owner of Vroom Vroom Balloon by Harlan Ruby. "The unicorn head is definitely the most popular balloon and the second most is a giant T-Rex," she said.
The balloon bar, nestled inside Harlan Ruby, is owned by a mother-daughter duo.
Flaherty said the balloon craze is blowing up world wide but it's new to Nashville.
"The balloon sculptures are really popular in places like Australia and the UK and all of these places where people are celebrating a little bit bigger and we are in the states right now," she said. "I think a lot of people, because Instagram is so big right now, have seen bloggers and celebrities standing in front of huge balloon sculptures. We put those up at Nashville and people are immediately like 'Yes I have a chance to take a picture with balloons!"
The shop fulfills orders of any size. From a single balloon to an entire store-front.
"They're 100 percent biodegradable and organic which is really great for the environment," she said.
