NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Dozens of people came together Saturday night to celebrate the anniversary of a historic moment.

The Union Station Hotel hosted an event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11's landmark mission which put the first people on the moon.

"It was just so awe inspiring," Allison Kerr, who attended the event, remembered. "I was pretty young but we all sat in quiet just in awe."

Attendees celebrated with signature, lunar-themed cocktails and enjoyed a presentation from the Adventure Science Center.

"It gives a chance to educate people who are younger, who might not have had a time to see that or realize the relevance of it," Kerr said.

Others said they hoped the anniversary can inspire another historic feat.

Hoping that in 50 years...the hotel can host another anniversary for another historic feat.
