Baby abducted from upscale suburban Philadelphia mall

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (AP) — Police are searching for a woman who they say kidnapped a baby boy from an upscale shopping mall in suburban Philadelphia.

Upper Merion Township police say 7-week-old Ahsir Simmons was abducted by a stranger Thursday evening at the King of Prussia Mall.

Police say a woman befriended the boy's family at the mall. She was alone. Police say they sat down together in the food court. That's when they say the woman asked if she could hold the baby, and then took off with him.

An Amber Alert has been issued as police continue to search for the unidentified woman and the baby.
