Technology seems to be making things easier for everyone these days — including prisoners.
That was evident on Monday, when officials from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary discovered a drone that had crashed in an attempt to smuggle contraband into the prison.
According to a press release from the prison, the package carried by the drone contained a cell phone with a Bluetooth device, cigarettes, cigars, super glue and drugs — namely marijuana, meth and heroin. The Department of Corrections' Inspector General is conducting a deeper investigation.
This isn't the first time guards have captured smuggling drones. Earlier this month, trial dates were set for three men accused of a similar plot at a Maryland prison in August. Also in August, officials at anOhio prison intercepted a drone carrying tobacco, marijuana and heroin after a fight broke out between inmates who recovered the device.
