Parents in New Mexico set up a tent with food and water outside of their home for their son who they said just doesn't seem to react to other forms of punishment.
Some neighbors have said the parents have been abusing the teen with this form of punishment.
Jacob and Angela Boggus' 16-year-old son has been living in the tent during the daytime only. He has been coming into the home to use the bathroom and to go to sleep each night.
The couple said they're doing this in hopes of preventing him from stealing.
They added they believe they haven’t done anything wrong, since they’re only trying to teach him a lesson.
The parents said this was the only punishment they could think of, but they added they’re open to any suggestions.
