It's that time of year again — in honor of St. Patrick's Day, the Chicago River was dyed green.

It took about 15 seconds for the color change, which happened Saturday. This is the 55th year for the tradition, which attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators who typically also view the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

This year, the Irish holiday falls on Friday, March 17.
