The parents of the Dallas shooter who killed five police officers spoke publicly for the first time in an interview scheduled to air later this week, according to TheBlaze.com.
Police identified Micah Xavier Johnson as the lone shooter in July 7 attack at a Black Lives Matter protest that took the lives of five officers.
After days of silence, Johnson's parents reached out to Lawrence Jones of TheBlaze to share their thoughts on the attack and their son.
Johnson's father, James Johnson, cried openly during the preview clip posted on the website.
"I didn't see it coming," he said. "I love my son with all my heart. I hate what he did."
