Moments after earning a silver medal in the women’s 3-meter springboard in Sunday's Olympics, Chinese diver He Zi got the surprise of a lifetime.

This time, it was a diamond instead of a medal.

According to USA Today, after photos were taken for the medal ceremony, boyfriend and fellow Chinese diver Qin Kai got on one knee, right in front of cameras and an audience (watch below).

Right next to the poolside, Qin Kai proposed.

"We've been dating for six years, but I didn't expect him to propose today," He Zi said of the moment, according to BBC News. "He said a lot of things, made a lot of promises, but I think the thing that touched me the most is I think this is the guy I can trust for the rest of my life."

Both athletes have received recognition in Rio -- last week, Qin Kai won bronze in the men's three-meter synchronized springboard.
