NewsChannel 5 reporter Mark Bellinger sent his love and gratitude to friends, family and viewers after receiving a lot of support during his fight against cancer.
Mark has stepped away from reporting for several months while he fights a rare form of cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.
Friends and family have been supporting him since the news of the diagnosis, but Thursday the NewsChannel 5 station leadership team went to see him to help celebrate his birthday.
They took him some lunch, along with his favorite red velvet cake and more than 100 birthday cards from friends and co-workers.
He told them visits from friends make the days a little easier. He and his wife sent a message back for viewers and other community members that have wished him well along they way.
