Near Abduction Reported in Hendersonville Store

Posted
A Davidson County mom reported that her 9-year-old son was almost abducted while at the Hendersonville Walmart last week.

She made the report to the Hendersonville police, who opened an investigation. She said a man offered her 9-year-old $1 to follow him to the bathroom.

"I was both concerned and scared," said Sandie Holt about the incident involving her son Jackson.

Sandie had gone into the bathroom with her young daughter. Her 9-year-old son, Jackson, waited outside and that's when a man approached him.

"Jackson told me a man approached him and would give him one dollar if he would go to the bathroom with him," she recalled.

Jackson told the man 'no' then found his mom. Security footage from the store confirmed the encounter happened, right in front of cash registers and customer service.

"The guy had nerve to walk up to him with adults around, I'm afraid he's probably done it before being that comfortable," she added.

Police weren't sure the man did anything illegal, but this mother of three wanted other people to be more aware.

"He did something inappropriate and as a mother that's my concern," she said.

Hendersonville Police were looking to talk to the man who approached Jackson. However, because they weren't sure anything illegal was done, they did not release any pictures, or surveillance video.
