Nashville Electric Service has asked the court for help after Nashville passed its One Touch Make Ready Google Fiber ordinance.
NES said Google Fiber's move to Music City has put the company in an "impossible position."
The city passed the ordinance that would streamline Google Fiber's access to NES utility poles after the tech giant threatened to pull out of Nashville.
That triggered lawsuits from Comcast and AT&T - both of whom have deep pockets for a prolonged court battle.
In response, NES asked a court to issue a judgment, since they cannot honor prior contracts and the new city law at the same time.
