NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The new state logo has been rejected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Those with the office refused to accept the state's attempt to register the logo.
According to the federal office, the art was "primarily geographically descriptive," which was against the rules.
It was just the latest in the controversial move to make the mark official in Tennessee after word got out the price to create the logo cost around $46,000.
