Once again, our NewsChannel 5 Investigates team was featured on John Oliver's hit HBO television show "Last Week Tonight."
In an episode on voting that aired Sunday night, Oliver highlighted the practice of "Ghost Voting" by state lawmakers around the country.
It's a practice our very own Jennifer Kraus and the NewsChannel 5 Investigates team exposed here in Tennessee back in 2012.
Oliver stated that, "Lawmakers in Tennessee are so shameless about this, that they got the whole thing down to a fine art," before showing our video of Tennessee lawmakers using a stick to place votes for other lawmakers on the House floor.
Oliver injected his trademark humor stating, "Look, if you are going to pervert democracy, could you at least do it with a less creepy stick?"

This isn't the first time Oliver has featured a NewChannel 5 Investigation on his HBO show. Back in 2014, Oliver aired significant portions of our NewsChannel 5 Investigates series "Policing for Profit."
Oliver highlighted the work of our team as part of an episode that was highly critical of civil asset forfeiture practices across the country.
