NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Metro board signed off on a new concessions contract Monday for Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

That came after Nashville Predators officials backed away from some controversial provisions first exposed by NewsChannel 5 Investigates.

The Nashville Sports Authority approved a contract extension with Delaware North, which has had the arena's business since 1996.

Under the terms of the deal, Delaware North will make millions of dollars in improvements. In exchange, it gets a 12-year extension of its current contract.

Team officials say the city should also eventually make more money off the deal.

The Preds had proposed giving the company a brand new, 32-year contract -- without letting other companies bid for the business.
