After a long debate, a decision was not made on what to do with the Middle Tennessee State University’s controversial building name Forrest Hall.
The building bears the name of a Confederate general.
Thursday night, the Forrest Hall Task Force met for the first time without public discussion.
The panel debated on whether or not to rename the building, keep the name with added historical context, or take no action.
That debate was set to continue next week. At that point, the panel will make a recommendation to MTSU's President.
