Authorities confirmed a plea deal has been reached in Timothy Batts' case.
After two days of deliberations during the trial in July, jurors could not come to a decision on the charge of reckless homicide. Batts was found not guilty of tampering with evidence and guilty of unlawful possession of a weapon.
On Friday, the Sumner County District Attorney confirmed a plea deal was reached. There will not be a retrial on the charge of reckless homicide.
Sentencing in the case has been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, September 1. Batts has been facing two to four years for unlawful possession of a weapon.
