NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Smoke and flames filled a North Nashville business, and investigators said they’re working to find out how it all started.

It appeared the fire started on the roof overnight, but there were no obvious reasons why a fire would break out in that area. Officials said they believe it was suspicious.

The incident happened at the Metro PCS Store on Lafayette Street.

The fire was contained quickly, but smoke filled the inside of the store.

Fire fighters not only spent time working to put out the flames, but they also tried to see if they could find the cause.

Crews said they believe someone threw debris on the roof of the store.

Obviously, since it was so late at night, the store was closed, so thankfully no one was hurt.

The roof suffered some damage, and the inside of the store had smoke damage as well, but the building was not declared a total loss.

The Fire Marshal was called to officially begin the investigation.
