HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One person was killed and a second person was injured in a house fire in Hendersonville Thursday night.

The fire was reported on Shadow Lane at about 11:30p.m.

When crews got to the home, they said there were flames shooting from its roof.

One person had made it out of the home safely, and told firefighters that two people were trapped inside.

Hendersonville firefighters were able to rescue one person who was still inside. They were taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and some burns, according to Hendersonville Fire Chief Scotty Bush.

One person didn't make it out of the fire alive.

"Of course the family's loss is a big burden for them and my staff," said Chief Bush. "So just keep them in your thoughts and prayers."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Chief Bush said crews will remain on scene to put out any remaining hot spots early Friday morning.
