Package Thieves Hit East Nashville Homes

Neighbors have reported several packages stolen off of porches in East Nashville in recent weeks.

"It was a couple days late," said Maryanne Michas, who lives on Forrest Avenue. "I just checked our surveillance cameras and sure enough, it just walked right off our front porch."

Michas captured video of a man stealing a FedEx package off her front porch earlier this week. It was a care package from her mother with fuzzy slippers and a candle inside.

"She was so sad, so I felt so bad," Michas said. "But then she was like, 'You try to find those people!' So we did file a police report."

Michas posted the video on the East Nashville Neighborhood Watch Facebook page, where at least one other neighbor said they also had a package stolen.

And on McFerrin Street, one woman said she's had two packages taken just days apart from each other by two different thieves.

"People make my blood boil," Michelle Clausen wrote. "I've had two packages stolen in the past few weeks, the second was stolen Saturday at 2:29 p.m. I am filing a report but If anyone recognizes this person, please report them!"

If you recognize anyone in the surveillance video, call officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department.
