NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Parents across Tennessee joined forces to tell lawmakers "our kids deserve better."
Members of Memphis Lift and Nashville Propel united today to call for better education for their kids.
Memphis Lift is a coaltion of parents and grandparents with students zoned to attend Memphis' lowest performing schools. Nashville Propel is a new organization.
They're currently focusing on making sure parents know what's happening in their kids' schools.
The goal is for 75 percent of parents to know their kids are attending those priority schools. To do that, Nashville Propel is hosting listening events and canvassing neighborhoods.
