Nashville's first “Pedestrian Scramble” crosswalk went live Monday.
The crosswalk was put in on Lower Broadway between 2nd and 5th Avenues North.
Officials said it would take some getting used to, but the way it works is pedestrians can only walk when traffic is stopped in all directions.
When the pedestrian signals give you the go, you can take off in any direction, diagonal or straight across.
Cyclists must dismount and walk their bikes if they want to cross on the pedestrian scramble.
The new intersection changes go into effect just as the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament makes its way into town this week.
