Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Nashville

Police have identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed overnight in Nashville. 

The incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday on West End Avenue near 17th Avenue. 

Metro Nashville Police said a 26-year-old woman was traveling west and was in the far right lane when 62-year-old William Wolfe was struck. 

Police said that Wolfe, who is believed to have been homeless, was not in a crosswalk. He reportedly stepped into the path of the woman's vehicle. 

The driver said she couldn't avoid hitting him.  

No charges were filed in the case. Police said there was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.
