The Nashville Pet Emergency Clinic donated 25 pet oxygen masks to the Nashville Fire Department.
A family pet fighting for its life is a tough image to see. Yet, a Nashville firefighter recently saved a dog's life with a special oxygen mask.
Thanks to the clinic's donation other firefighters will be able to do the same and help save even more lives.
The masks can be used on all varieties of dogs and cats to give them fresh oxygen after inhaling smoke.
Nationwide each year, more than 40,000 pets perish in fires, and owners can also be hurt trying to save the animals themselves.
With Friday's donation, every fire station in the city will be equipped with a pet oxygen mask kit.
