Plans For TN State Museum Made Public

Posted

The Tennessee State Museum gave people a first-look at plans for the new state museum.

The $160 million museum was designed by one of the best exhibit designers in world, and will include marble floors, a rotunda, and two-story high grand hall.

According to the project coordinator, Tennessee's rich history will also be displayed in a prominent place in the museum.

First of all, as often says, she's the Executive Director, Tennessee's history is really the country's history; so we think it's an opportunity to lift something that is really already unique in artifacts and the history that we have out of the basement of the Polk building and have its own building,” said Mark Cate, Tennessee Museum Project Coordinator. So we think this is a really unique project and it’s a fun time to build a museum with all of the technology that you have at your disposal in this day and time.”

The museum was set to open in the fall of 2018.
