NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified the victim of an overnight drowning in Davidson County.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the body of 56-year-old Mark Sherrill was recovered Saturday morning at Elm Hill Marina in Nashville.
Sherrill apparently owned a houseboat at the marina.
The victim reportedly left his boat sometime Friday night to go listen to live music. Police said he somehow fell 20 feet down a steep embankment into the water.
Detectives said there was no indication of foul play and the incident appeared the be accidental.
The Medical Examiner has been called in to determine the exact cause of death.
