NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Nashville father was arrested on several charges after police say he drove to a fast food drive-thru while impaired with his one-year-old in the backseat.
Officials with Metro police said Dashaun Hickerson was in the drive-thru at the Cookout restaurant on West End Avenue when officers stopped him.
Hickerson reportedly struggled to unlock his door and get out of the car.
Authorities said he had trouble answering questions and failed multiple sobriety tests. Hickerson told police he had not been drinking but that he had taken a sleeping pill.
However, when officers searched the car they allegedly found Oxycodone, Xanax and a loaded gun, all reportedly in reach of his one-year-old child.
Hickerson was also driving on a suspended license.
He was taken into custody and booked for DUI, a gun charge and several other drug charges.
Hickerson has since bonded out of jail. A court date was set for September 9.
His photo was not immediately available.
