Police Investigate String Of Brentwood Burglaries

A total of 12 cars and two homes in one Brentwood neighborhood were hit by burglars in a 2-day period.

Police say the cars were all unlocked, and some had valuables inside.

Of the two homes affected, one happened at the same time as the string of car burglaries overnight on Monday. And police believe the same people are responsible. They tried to steal a T.V. from the porch of a home.

Police believed the other home, which was a daytime burglary on Sunday, was a completely separate case. The homeowners caught the thief, who appears to be a Hispanic woman, on home survillance.

The string of burglaries happened on Paddock Place, River Oaks Road and Bridlewood Lane. Police say there's a false perception that Brentwood has no crime, but burglaries like this are not uncommon. They say many in the neighborhood made themselves an easy target by leaving their doors unlocked and valuables visible.

People around the neighborhood are shaken, and say they're taking more precautions in the future. The neighborhood itself is looking into installing cameras at the entrance to River Oaks.

Police asked anyone with information to call the Brentwood Police Department at 615-371-0160 or email them at bpdtips@brentwoodtn.gov.
