Police Look For Woman Behind Attempted Abduction

Posted
Police have begun looking for a woman they said was behind an attempted child abduction in Clarksville.

It happened on the 1400 block of Glendale Circle Monday just as the girls got off the bus.

The young victim's mother said she left her house to meet her children at the school bus when she saw her 9-year-old daughter walking down Glendale Circle with her friend.

She then saw a silver Nissan Altima stop by the girls "never got out of her car, her window was only cracked about this much," said the victim's mother.

She then saw the car take off at a high rate of speed. It wasn't until later that she found out the woman inside the car told her daughter to get in the car and go with them.

"She knew what she was doing," said the mother. Her 9-year-old daughter said her friend tried to open the back seat door and she pulled her away from the car.

She told her mom she remembered seeing stuffed animals in the back seat . Police said she also remembered what she looked like. "She remembered she was skinny black female and she had her hair put up in a bun and she called it a perfect bun," said Officer Natalie Hall.

Officer Hall says while the female driver did not commit a crime they would like to speak with her. The victim's grandma tried to chase the car, but it got away.

Clarksville Police said they have planned to have extra patrols at different bus stops to see if they spot it.
