NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police are working to find a man who shoved a 79-year-old woman to the ground before stealing her purse at a Wal-Mart off Lebanon Pike.

Police say the incident happened May 22 at the Wal-Mart store in the 4400 block of Lebanon Pike in Hermitage.

The woman was walking to her car when a dark sedan with temporary tags pulled up beside the woman.

The man driving inside the car asked to use the woman's cell phone. He drove off when she told him she didn't have one.

The man then returned moments later, got out of the car and shoved the woman down.

Police say he then took the woman's purse and took off in the sedan.

Witnesses say four other people were inside the getaway vehicle.

The sedan reportedly has damage to the front of the car.

The victim wasn't seriously injured in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the suspect(s) or who recognizes the vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 for a cash reward.
