NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police said a Nashville man arrested for his fourth DUI had two children in the car with him.
Leopold Mpawinayo, age 42, was stopped by an officer on Thursday for going the wrong way down a one way street. He had two children, ages 8 and 10, in the car with him.
An affidavit said officers noticed he smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot and watery eyes. He allegedly told officers he had one glass of wine.
Police also found marijuana on him.
After failing field sobriety tests, Mpawinayo was taken into custody and read the implied consent law.
Police said his license was already revoked for three previous DUI convictions, two in 2004 and one in 2001.
Mpawinayo was charged with DUI, fourth offense; revoked license, second offense; violation of the implied consent law; and drug possession.
