Metro Nashville Police have arrested a man whom they say entered a woman’s bedroom and tried to remove her clothes.

The incident was reported before 9 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex on Rosa L. Parks Boulevard.

An affidavit from police said Andre Dewayne Lewis is charged with aggravated burglary in the case.

A woman told investigators she was asleep in apartment, along with her two, small children – both under 5-years-old – when a man pulled the comforter off of her, put his hands into her pants and tried to remove them.

When she screamed, he ran from the apartment and she called police.

Earlier in the morning, Lewis had been detained while officers were responding to a report of a possible domestic disturbance between him and his mother.

While speaking with Lewis, one officer heard a burglary call in the area go out at 8:43 a.m.  The description of a man wearing a red shirt and gray pants with dreadlocks matched Lewis, police said.

He was taken into custody. Police said the victim positively identified him as the man in her apartment.

On June 9, police said he pleaded guilty for aggravated trespassing at the same apartment complex where both the victim and his mother live.
