A Nashville man was charged with aggravated rape after police said he sexually assaulted a woman suffering from Lupus.

Metro Nashville sex crimes detectives arrested 26-year-old Timothy Dewayne Gibson Tuesday.

Officials said Gibson met the victim at the Wal-Mart Nolensville Pike & Harding Place.

He was in the checkout line behind her, and was believed to have noticed her curled fingers caused by Lupus.  Gibson apparently rushed to assist the victim with her purchases, and walked with her to her nearby apartment.

Once there, the victim thanked Gibson and asked him to leave.  He refused, saying that he had nowhere to go and was hungry, although in reality, Gibson lived in the same apartment complex.

The victim offered Gibson food and allowed him to sleep on her couch.  He is alleged to have sexually assaulted her during the night, and to have stolen her computer and purse before leaving.

Gibson was taken into custody at his Tanglewood Court apartment.  The victim’s computer was recovered from there.

Because Gibson was charged in a 2011 peeping tom case involving a female at a North Nashville apartment who did not know him, detectives have asked citizens to call the Sex Crimes Office at 615-862-7540 if they recognize Gibson as being involved in any suspicious activity in neighborhoods, including apartment communities.
