Posted

Metro Nashville Police officers responded to the scene of a barricaded suspect in North Nashville, that later ended peacefully.

A man was being served court papers on a mental health evaluation when he barricaded himself in a home near 9th Avenue and Monroe Street.

Officers tried to coax a man out of his North Nashville home for more than an hour, but he refused to come out.

Around 5:15 p.m. officers took the man into custody. He had no hostages, and the situation ended peacefully.

It was unclear why the man locked himself inside. He was initially not facing criminal charges, but it was unclear if he would be charged following the barricade situation.
