Police Say Slain Woman's Bank Card Found In TN

Posted

Authorities say the credit card of a woman who was run over and killed in a Covington Wal-Mart parking lot after having her purse stolen has turned up in Tennessee.

Covington police spokesman Capt. Craig Treadwell tells media outlets that Marsha Johnson's bank card was found Tuesday in a walkway of the Koch Chicken Processing Plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Treadwell says that on Monday, a man stole Johnson's purse, jumped in a vehicle and ran over her multiple times as he escaped with a female passenger in the car.

On Thursday, Covington detectives were in Chattanooga, Tennessee, distributing sketches of the man and woman. Treadwell says no one has been named a suspect.

Police say there was no indication that Johnson's card had been used. The investigation continues.
