Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department asked for the public's help in finding a convicted felon wanted on the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
According to police, 45-year-old James Maurice Kirkwood Sr. assaulted his 51-year-old girlfriend when her son intervened and was stabbed in the stomach and chest.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was still recovering.
It happened Saturday at a home on the 300 block of Douglas Avenue.
Kirkwood has previous convictions for cocaine possession, domestic assault, assault, aggravated burglary, and theft.
