One person was shot in broad daylight after an attempted robbery in the Bordeaux area.
The incident happened just before noon Friday near Danny’s Market on 1497 County Hospital Road in Nashville.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a customer was in the parking lot after exiting the store when an unidentified male suspect came up to him and demanded money.
The victim tried to run and the suspect opened fire, hitting the victim in the leg. The suspect then fled the scene in a small, silver SUV.
Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.
The market was closed while investigators gathered evidence at the scene. They were also reviewing surveillance tape to see if it helped them identify the suspect.
The victim’s identity was not released.
