Detectives with the Clarksville Police Department are warning parents to be cautious after an attempted abduction.

A witness told police a female stranger tried to persuade her 9-year-old granddaughter into her car in the 1400 block of Glendale Drive.

The little girl told police the woman said "Hey. I don't see your parents, do you want to go to the store?"

The little girl ran away, and that's when her grandmother said she saw the car speed off.

The incident was reported at 4:21p.m. on March 7th.

The 9-year-old described the suspect as a thin black woman with her hair pulled up in a "perfect bun."

The car was a silver Nissan Altima, and the child said the woman had several stuffed animals inside.

Officers asked anyone with information that might help their investigation to call 931-645-8477.
