Democrats have their South Carolina primary ahead of them followed by Super Tuesday in multiple states, including Tennessee.
On March 1, Tennessee and a number of other states get their chance to go to the polls.
Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini said this is an exciting time.
“I think on the national level we are part of the southern, what they're calling the SEC Primary, and so I think when you look at it not just as Tennessee as one state, but Tennessee as part of the SEC Primary, Tennessee being the southern state that moves in a progressive direction before the others, I think that's what the importance is,” Mancini said. “You know you have to look at it in the complete context of what the primary is next Tuesday.”
Mancini said people have been fired up about one candidate or another, and that's what's driving them to the polls.
Early Voting in Tennessee has been set to end Tuesday.
