It was the biggest night so far at the Republican National Convention.

Thursday night, Donald Trump officially accepted the nomination from Republican delegates to be their presidential nominee.

In a speech, Trump criticized the current administration for economic shortfalls, terrorist acts, and gun violence.

Donald Trump also waved off chants of "lock her up" about Hillary Clinton, but told the delegates simply: "Let's defeat her in November."

One of the lawmakers who took the stage Thursday night was Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.

"Donald Trump has the skills required to lead this nation, a diverse nation, and he can help our people achieve greatness,” Rep. Blackburn said. “He believes in the American dream because he has lived the American dream."

There were still protestors rallying outside the convention center in Cleveland Thursday; however, the demonstrations were more peaceful than Wednesday night when 18 people were arrested and two officers received minor injuries.

At least one protestor was taken out of the convention center as Trump was speaking Thursday night.
