A planned power outage means thousands will be without power overnight.
The Tennessee Valley Authority will disconnect power to Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation members served by the Gainesboro substation late Saturday night starting at midnight.
This will impact people in the areas of Gainesboro, North Springs, Jennings Creek Highway, Gladdice Highway, York Highway, Roaring River Road, and Celina Highway.
The outage has been expected to last for up to six hours stretching into Sunday morning.
TVA officials said the interruption is necessary to do maintenance on equipment. UCEMC officials added they will be taking advantage of the outage to do necessary maintenance on their equipment, as well.
