It may have been the first day of fall, but some furry friends enjoyed a final taste of summer in Nashville.

For the first time ever, Nashville Shores hosted a dog-only swim day on Saturday.

Hundreds of dogs enjoyed three different swimming areas and a splash pad as a part of the Wags 'n Waves event.

Their humans and Nashville Shores employees said it was a blast to see the dogs enjoying the water.

“We say if you can't leave this event smiling, something is wrong with you,” said Dana Guettner, group sales manger for Nashville Shores. “It has been so fun to see the different animals, big dogs versus little dogs. It has been so much fun.”

Money from ticket sales will benefit the Nashville non-profit New Leash on Life. Organizers said they hope to make this an annual event.
