A mid-state first responder was honored by the President and received the Medal of Valor for saving someone's life.
Putnam County EMT Sean Ochsenbein was awarded the Medal of Valor for saving a person from a fiery crash outside the Johnson City area.
He came upon the crash and used a towing strap to get the victim's car door off the car, saving the person inside.
Ochsenbein was one of 12 honored for their bravery.
