Rape Suspect Wanted In Georgia Captured In Mt. Juliet

MT. JULIET, Tenn. – A suspect wanted in Georgia on statutory rape charges has been captured in Wilson County.

Earlier, officials with Mt. Juliet Police said 22-year-old Michael Steven Lee had been seen at a McDonald's, located on N. Mt. Juliet Road at 11:30 a.m. 

Lee was wanted for allegedly raping a child under the age of 16 in Thomas County, Georgia.

Lee was able to flee the scene before officers could arrive. A foot pursuit ensued and he was taken into custody near the Stonegate community.

Mount Juliet Christian Academy and West Wilson Middle school were briefly placed on a precautionary lockdown while police continued searching.

No additional details were known.
