Operation Stand Down in downtown Nashville has begun a multi-million dollar renovation project.
The veteran service center began the construction Monday at their 12th Avenue South location.
Executive Director Sean Muldoon said besides fixing the outside of the building, they would also be renovating the interior to make the center more inviting to the community and veterans they serve.
"Our goal in that is to make ourselves more inviting to our community and the veterans we serve specifically targeting our female veterans, our new sets of veterans who are coming out of or who are post-911 and trying to make this a place welcoming to them and the community," said Muldoon.
The center still needed an additional $2 million to complete the project.
