Representative David Hawk has tossed his name into the ring to possibly replace Beth Harwell for Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives.
On Wednesday, the lawmaker from Green County announced he's running for the position. He said he hopes to replace Harwell, who has held the position since 2011.
She lost the Republican gubernatorial primary earlier this month. Hawk says he looks forward to having everyone work together.
Republicans will elect a nominee for speaker in November.
