A dog named KK was found in Smith County was left for dead until someone found him, but his new owners had no idea just how badly he was injured until an X-Ray showed a bullet still in his head.
"It was pretty much lifeless. It wasn't doing anything at all," said Linda Bush.
It was obvious, the dog she and and her husband found was in bad shape, but know one knew how bad until their daughter, Tressa, took him to a vet in Carthage the next day.
"It was extremely malnourished. It's tail bone was sticking out. It's ribs were sticking out, but it didn't have any blood or anything running from it," said Tressa.
However, an X-Ray revealed a bullet was lodged in the dog's skull. Bullet fragments were spread throughout his head.
So far, Tressa has forked over nearly $2,000 to treat KK, but he's going to need surgery at a specialist in Nashville to remove the bullet. A gofundme page has been set up to help pay for the vet bill.
