NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Homeowners in the Neely's Bend area of Madison are concerned about a proposed new development that would bring nearly 50 new homes to an area that is currently preserved green space.

The development is planned 1029 Neely's Bend Road and a portion of property located at Hospital Road.

Residents are worried the additional homes will make traffic worse in an area that is already seen increased development in the last decade.

"It's just going to be difficult. You're talking about adding more homes, traffic wise it will be difficult. And I think it's okay to just leave it as green space," said Shannon Wilhelm who manages the nearby Madison Farm.

The Metro Planning Commission approved rezoning for the land last week.
