DECHERD, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Franklin County restaurant plans to honor active military members, firefighters, police officers and EMT's with a free meal on Thursday.

The owner of Olympus Gyro & Pizza in Decherd, Matthew Sfirakis, announced his decision through a Facebook video.

They will get to choose a free meal out of four options but will get a 50 percent discount if they choose a different item from the menu.

"That's our way of saying thank you. Thank you for what you guys do everyday, you put your lives on the line, when you leave your homes from wife, husbands and kids," he said.

Those who are off-duty are asked to show their badge.

Sfirakis asked in the video to spread the message to people outside of the county.

The restaurant just celebrated its three-year anniversary on Monday and offered free dessert to its customers.
