The Rutherford County Judicial building was vandalized with human feces and graffiti.
Feces was found in a stairwell, elevator and in the building's parking garage.
Mayor Bill Ketron reported the vandalism to the Commission Property Management Committee on Thursday.
Ketron pointed to the homeless population who frequent the downtown area and the parking garage.
The committee responded by asking the county's Public Building Authority to look for ways to improve problems surrounding the garage. Security cameras are also being installed.
