With temperatures starting to cool off, it's getting a little easier to think about the holidays, and right now, retailers are preparing to put out the call for seasonal help.
Gap Inc. is having a hiring event on October 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all of their stores. Gap also owns Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athleta. Gap is looking to fill more than 200 positions in Nashville and 920 positions in Gallatin.
Target will be hiring seasonal employees in-stores October 12 through 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Target plans to hire approximately 1,200 seasonal team members in Nashville.
UPS is aiming to hire almost 1,000 people for jobs at stores in Whites Creek, Massman, La Vergne, Franklin, and Murfreesboro. The positions are a combination of seasonal and permanent jobs, including 582 package handlers and 287 driver-helpers.
FedEx is hiring, too, but they have not yet released hiring numbers.
Walmart gives holiday hours to their current associates, but they could do some holiday hiring on a store-by-store basis.
